Puppets and Potatoes
Here's another 1970's TV spot, this time for a giveaway that must have been popular. In 1970, Crest/Scope gave away Looney Tunes puppets. I have seen these at flea markets for years, but rarely intact (usually only the rubber heads survive).
I still don't have much to say about the new Looney Tunes Show. However, now available at Walmart to tie-in with the new CN series are Mr. Potato Heads dressed as Bugs, Daffy or Taz. How could we not document these things here at Misce-Looney-ous?

Surprised there's no Bugs, Daffy or Porky puppets. Oh well
ReplyDeleteI've often seen people selling the heads as finger puppets not realizing they originally came with plastic bodies.
ReplyDeleteI had this set when I was a kid and repurchased them all (with 'bodies' intact) years later for my collection. I scoured the earth (slight exaggeration) assuming there must be a Bugs and Daffy but, no, these six were the complete set.
Around the same time, another company made similar puppets with cloth plaid and polka-dot bodies. The heads had large googly eyes and I'm pretty certain these were unlicensed. I've seen Bugs, Porky, Sylvester, Foghorn Leghorn, and Elmer Fudd.
