Matthew posted about the Harman-Ising Merrie Melodies the other day, so I thought I'd post something with the first Looney Tunes star: Bosko. Here is one of my favorite Bosko shorts: "Ride Him, Bosko!" from 1932. It's very funny and has some great music on the soundtrack. Don't miss the unexpected ending!

Who the heck sez it all started with Porky? RIDE HIM, BOSKO! is absolutely *loaded* with signs of the developing Warner style. It's almost as if Buddy represented a step *back* after this (no offense, Matthew).
Hot tip: this cartoon isn't the end! BOSKO'S PARLOR PRANKS picks up where this cartoon leaves off, even using the same animation, so we see how Bosko finally figures out how to rescue Honey.
I'm not sure exactly what happened to poor Goopy at the piano, there. Losing your clothes... uh, makes you gay or something?
