I have no idea what (or where) "Shoprite" is. But I do know that this recent spot may be the worst animation I've ever seen of Bugs Bunny in a tv commercial. Advice to those illustrating and animating Looney Tunes: Put...the airbrush tools....DOWN! Also, use the model sheets and clipart poses as a GUIDE, not a CRUTCH.

When it comes to animating characters who made their debut in the theatrical era, I think the use of Flash should be outlawed.
Shop-Rite is a chain of supermarkets, mainly located in the metro New York area.
Trust me when I say this commercial is still better than watching the Shop-Rite "Can-Can" canned vegetable sale commercial again, which they must have reused every spring for about 25 years.
uggh.
My EYES!!!!
Well, it's just painful to watch!
But the supermarket sounds a good place.
Too bad I never saw this commercial before. Looks pretty cool. I've been going to Shop-Rite my entire life, and I'm surprised I never saw this before. Actually, the distribution center of Shop Rite is located in my hometown (Elizabeth, NJ).
I'm amazed someone actually ponied up the money needed to use "The Merry-go-Round Broke Down" in the ad. Hell, that must've been where the animation budget went.
There is a chain of ShopRite supermarkets in the United States, but the accent and use of kilograms makes me think that this is a British or Australian spot. The animation is indeed horrible- it looks like they just used Flash to animate still photos of Bugs. And the "What's up Doc?" is almost robotic.
This is definitely not the USA Shop-Rite. You definitely don't want to buy 100 tea bags for $8.89 here in the US. But I'll agree that this is a sucky ad.
The disclaimer at the end reads "RSA only" - must mean Republic of South Africa. The announcer does sound South African.
