Daffy Duck on the Drew Carey Show

After the success of "Space Jam", Warner Bros. unleashed a whole flood of advertisements and cameos by the Looney Tunes stars. Throughout the mid to late 90's, the characters showed up in ads galore for everything from MCI phone service to mayonnaise to Cheetos...and this memorable cameo from "The Drew Carey Show" in 1998. Daffy Duck bursts into Drew Carey's office out of nowhere, in a sort of modern-day homage to "You Oughtta Be In Pictures". The episode is titled "My Best Friend's Wedding". Daffy is voiced by Joe Alaskey.

I picked up WHV's Television Favorites: The Drew Carey Show, just for this segment alone.

I've been waiting quite a while to see that. That was very well written and animated. And Alasky is always a hoot.

Through the little subtle touches in this segment (Daffy's flying spittle, his pronunciation of "discrimination", the use of "Powerhouse", and the closing "bayowhup"), you can tell that this bit was written by someone who really knows their Looney Tunes trivia. Excellent scene, I must say.

That was a fantastic clip. I've been watching the Drew Carey Show for years and I've never come across it. I'll need to hunt this episode down.

Drew Carey was great with Daffy. It's too bad he wasn't involved in Space Jam or Back in Action...
