Misce-Looney-Ous Blog Commentaries: "Tin Pan Alley Cats"
Here's a true classic that ought to get more attention than it does. Bob Clampett's 1943 Merrie Melodies short "Tin Pan Alley Cats". I figured by doing this one you'd forgive me for the Daffy/Speedy entry last time!
I thought this was your best commentary yet, Matthew. There was certainly plenty to talk about in this one. I believe a lot of the animation in that one scene in the bar was reused from Freleng's "September in the Rain" (I could be wrong). Also, some of that footage of when Fats first sees "Wackyland" was reused in "Dough For the Do-Do"
I'm happen to be the lucky bastard who have the good copy and the terrific copy( same one but professionally transferred with technical care) of it. The C11 and other rare ones are the only things in my collection I was told not to trade or ELSE.....

Great commentary & great cartoon!
I hate when animation is reused, but I'll make an exception with this cartoon. Anything Bob Clampett is gold.
