A follow-up to the Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout post. A look back at some of the many tie-ins to Bugs' 50th in 1990.
A funny review of the embarassingly terrible (and now embarrassingly outdated) HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUGS! TV special courtesy of "PlatypusComix".
Warner Bros. left no stone unturned. Practically every major company you can think of did some sort of Bugs-themed birthday promotion that year.

yes and then, later, they the cartoon, Blooper Bunny for his 51st 1/2 Birthday! you can find it on Guba.com
"Blooper Bunny" was actually a parody of the whole "50th birthday" stuff... which probably played a part in why WB didn't want to release it.
It is also on the first Golden Collection, of course.
I was young when the whole Bugs Bunny's 50th anniversery thing came around, In fact i have the Bugs Bunny glass
I remember watching this special on VHS and yes, it's a terrible and odd special. Bugs don't need that tough. I rmember that a Gas Station saled some plastic glass of Bugs Bunny for his 50th birthday but i meet sometimes in my work.
Sounds like the same garbage the WB with that awful 50th Anniversary Looney Tunes Special. Nothing about the creators but instead, a bunch of celeberities who have these un-funny stories about the characters' lives.
As over-saturated as the 50th anniversary stuff for Bugs might've been, at least they paid ample attention to Bugs and the Looney Tunes gang---vs. nowadays, when Bugs' cartoons are unseen outside of the DVD releases and Boomerang. Guessing at the current rate, there won't be much of any hype period for Bugs' 75th in 2015...
If there was no hype for the Looney Tunes' 75th anniversary in 2005, I doubt we'll see anything for Bugs' 75th. Unless the tide turns in the favor of public presentation of classic animation between now and then (we can dream, can't we?).
