Operation Lifesaver PSA with the Road Runner

After a short hiatus, Misce-Looney-ous is back in action with what you all really come here to see... yes, it's another commercial with the Road Runner! This time a public service announcement from 1987 for "Operation Lifesaver" reminding us to look both ways before crossing the railroad tracks (advice that Wile E. Coyote doesn't follow, of course).

That's so classic!!
I wish that stuff like this could be still aired on TV! they are not just a pleasure for the eye ( see 80's old style animation) but they still keep beign preety funny!

Man, look at the last shot of the mutillated Wile E. limping across the logo at the end. That's pretty wild!

WOW! I've seen some scans of an Operation Lifesaver coloring book featuring the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote on various local Operation Lifesaver websites! Too bad they couldn't continue to get permission from WB to use them as Operation Lifesaver mascots; we had to watch "Sly Fox and Birdie" when I was in elementary school, an animated video from the 1990s with crude animation of a smart Woodstock-esque bird and her dumb fox friend.

Oh well, at least Inspector Gadget also did a good job getting a message on train safety to kids!

A lot more interesting than what was done a decade earlier to promote off-road safety...
