Jerry Beck over on Cartoon Brew made a post about a new site devoted to classic cartoon coloring books which included a link to an ebay seller selling off hundreds of books devoted to any character you could possibly think of. I couldn't resist posting the cover of THIS one I found while browsing the site. It's a coloring book from Golden called Tweety and Sylvester and Their Friends, obviously made sometime during that period in the 1970s where Cool Cat was considered part of the main LT cast of characters. The word balloons over our cartoon pals indicate the book includes riddles, dot-to-dots, crossword puzzles and... recipes??? In a coloring book? You know this book is trouble when we have Tweety boasting about "exercises in creative thinking" and Sylvester talking directly to the parents.
Anyway, what really made me HAVE to post this cover was Yosemite Sam. Isn't he adorable? Giving green-eyed Sylvester a big ol' hug? He looks like he could be an extra on the Care Bears...

I think I'm more disturbed on how small Sam seems compared to Sylvester who looks huge!
Sam also looks attracted to Sylvester.
I used to have that book! Or, one of my siblings had it.
Anyway, I found it in a closet when I was little. This was back before "Looney Tunes on Nickelodeon", so I was scratching my head, wondering who the smeg that tiger was.
There was even a coloring page featuring Cool Cat AND Col. Rimfire!
you are right Jon: I've never seen such a sooo Sweet picture of Sylvester...and shall we talk about the other charachters??
Yosemite Sam looks like a sweet troll with his long beard: anyone of you reminds that old trolls doll, which in the mid 80s were a trend between young people? exactly like them!!
Wile E. and RR with that cute eyes make my heart melt!! LOL!
Aw, poor Porky seems left out of the love-fest watching from behind Granny. lol
But I do admit, that's one cute Yosemite Sam! ;)
Road Runner sounds so intellectual when he sounds off about recipes, crossword puzzles, time and money.
BTW, very nice coloring book!
Road Runner on making a casserole: "Beep beep beep, beep beep-beep beep BEEP beep beep beep BEEP. Beep BEEP beep, beep BEEP beep beep."
Road Runner on keeping track of time and money: "Beep, beep beep BEEP beep beep, beep beep beep. Beep beep, beep-beep-beep beep BEEP beep beep beep. Beep! Beep BEEP beep beep BEEP."
You sort of need an interpreter.
(Everyone's going to keep me now, because all comic fans know he can secretly speak English as long as it rhymes. But that chance was just too good.)
LOL!! XD no way ramapith!!! you are totally right!! what are expect kids to learn from his advice? maybe at the end they can speak Road runners' language...could it be useful for your professional life?
Someone could explain what does it means "Time and Money"?? earn easely cash with a fraudolent way taught by Road Runner and then buy a your own Villa where live with all the Looney Tunes????
